Pair of Titans Compete at NCAA Finals June 4, 2005 Sacramento, CA
Senior long jumper Kurt Weber and freshman high jumper Jonathan Golden
will represent Cal State Fullerton at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field
Championships which begin Wednesday in Sacramento.
Weber was an automatic qualifier after placing third in the Western Regional
last week in Eugene, Oregon. His best leap of 25 feet, 1 1/4 inches is
the sixth best distance among the national qualifiers. Golden got an at-larger
berth after finishing seventh with a jump of 6-foot, 11 inches, a mark
which was good for third place with fewer misses.
Both Titans will be trying to finish among the top eight American citizens
in his respective event to earn All-American status. Weber's competition
begins Wednesday while the high jump starts on Thursay and concludes on
Saturday.
