Pair of Sprinters Sign with Titans
May 6, 2005– Fullerton, CA

Senior sprinters Nikki Wood of Yreka Union High School and Lamar Jackson of Washington Prep High School in Los Angeles have signed national letters of intent to continue their track and field careers at Cal State Fullerton.

Wood has a current best of 58.19 (Yreka school record) in the 400 meters while Jackson is a potential multiple events performer.

"Nikki brings tremendous depth to the Titan women’s sprint/relay program and she will make an immediate impact in the Big West Conference," said Titans' Sprint Coach Kenny McDaniel.

Wood plans to major in marketing.

“Lamar is a very talented young man who we believe can become a conference leader in several events,” said McDaniel. "He has the potential to make both relay (4x100m/4x400m) squads."

Jackson plans to major in sports psychology.
