Coaches
Carolyn Zimmerman, in her seventh season as an assistant coach, brings exceptional collegiate playing experience and a successful coaching record on both the club and college level to her position. Prior to joining the staff at Fullerton, Zimmerman was an assistant at Cal State Northridge in 1994, when the Matadors posted a 23-8 record and captured the NIVC in postseason play. In 1995, she guided her South Bay 17-1 Volleyball club team to a fourth-place finish at the prestigious Nike Volleyball Festival. And, she was formerly varsity assistant and junior varsity head coach at perennial prep powerhouse Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach. Zimmerman is a 1992 graduate of Pepperdine, where she was the setter or right-side hitter for four West Coast Conference championship squads. She received WCC Player-of-the-Year accolades in 1991 and was a member of the gold-medal winning south team at the Olympic Festival in Los Angeles in 1990. Carolyn's winning attitude, recruiting ability and overall experience make her a successful role model for our student-athletes, Coach Mary Ellen Murchison said. Zimmerman assists in all phases of the program with particular emphasis on coordinating recruiting efforts. She resides in Redondo Beach with her husband, Joe, sons Jimmie and Danny, and daughter Kira.
