Pruitt Named Sixth Woman of the Year
March 8, 2005 – Fullerton, Calif.

Cal State Fullerton junior Amber Pruitt was named the Big West Conference Sixth Woman of the Year according to a vote of her peers released by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.

Pruitt averaged 20.8 mpg and ranked third on the team in scoring at 10.1 ppg. She led the Titans with 15 blocks and shot .410 from the field and .759 from the free throw line. Pruitt is also averaging 5.1 rpg and has swiped 35 steals on the year to rank second on the team in that category.

Other specialty award winners included UC Riverside's Kemie Nkele as the conference's Defensive Player of the Year and Idaho's Leilani Mitchell as the "Best Hustle" award winner.

Fullerton continues its season this week at the Big West Conference Tournament at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif. The Titans are the No. 8 seed and will open against No. 5 UC Riverside on Wednesday (March 9) at noon.
