Embry-Riddle
Edges Titans in Wrestling Jan. 27, 2002 Fullerton, Calif. Tyler Moran scored a reversal in the final 10 seconds to win the decisive 133-pound bout Sunday afternoon and Embry-Riddle held on to defeat Cal State Fullerton, 23-22, in non-conference wrestling. Fullerton's David Rodriguez scored a takedown with less than 30 seconds remaining in the 133-pound match for a 3-1 lead but an interlocking hands call gave Moran a second point and the down position and he turned Rodriguez' attempt to hold him down for the balance of the match into a victory. That raised Embry-Riddle's lead in the match to 23-19 and Fullerton's Juan Mora managed only a 10-4 victory in the final bout at 141 pounds. Each team scored 6 points in a bout twice. The Eagles got pins from Will McCleve at 184 and heavyweight Ken Kobes. The Titans got a pin at 165 from Chris Carlino and Robert Valenzuela won the 125-pound bout via forfeit.
