Titans Win a Pair of Duals in Arizona Jan. 21, 2003– Prescott, Arizona
Chris Carlino scored a pair of falls and Joe Garcia beat a pair of
ranked wrestlers Saturday to lead Cal State Fullerton to two dual meet
victories at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.
Wrestling at 174 pounds, Carlino pinned Will Falvey of Menlo College in
2:02 to pace the Titans to a narrow 21-18 win. Against the host school,
Carlino won by fall in 21 seconds over David Rivera, who is ranked No.
8 in NAIA ranks, as the Titans cruised to a 34-6 victory.
Garcia pinned Menlo's Saul Lucatero, the No. 1-ranked NAIA wrestler in
4:07. He then beat No. 8-ranked ER's Danny Cadwallader, 8-0.
Fullerton will take a 7-8 record into a Friday match at defending Pac
10 champion Boise State before hosting Sunday night's match vs. Portland
State.
