Cal Poly Tops Titans in Pac-10 Action Dec. 1, 2003 -- Fullerton, Calif.
Cal Poly SLO opened its dual meet season Wednesday night with a convincing
30-12 victory at Cal State Fullerton in Pac-10 wrestling action.
The Mustangs won seven bouts, losing only two while forfeiting at 174
pounds. Fullerton fell to 0-2 overall and 0-2 in the Pac-10.
Tony Franco scored the only pin of the night, beating Fullertons
Jesse Miramontes at 125 pounds in 2:14. The Mustangs also got technical
falls from Darrell Vasquez at 133 and Ryan Halsey at 184.
Fullertons victories were registered by Juan Mora at 141 and Dustin
Vance at 157. Leonel Sanchez earned the forfeit win at 174.
Fullerton next competes this weekend at the Las Vegas Invitational.
