Seefeldt Remains in Hunt for NCAA Berth
Feb. 28, 2005-- San Luis Obispo, CA

Senior Landon Seefeldt kept alive his chances of qualifying for the NCAA Championships for a third consecutive year Monday morning when he defeated Reed Shelger of UC Davis, 12-7, in the 197-pound consolation bracket of the Pac-10 Championships. Seefeldt will face Casey Phelps of Boise State tonight in a battle for third place and a definite NCAA berth. Only selected fourth-place finishers advance. Seefeldt beat Phelps, 2-1, in the first round.

Morgan Atkinson was eliminated from NCAA consideration this morning when he lost to Tony Hook of Oregon State, 13-9. Atkinson faces Lex Case of Boise State tonight in a fifth-place match.

Juan Mora at 141 pounds and Leonel Sanchez at 174 are in their respective finals matches tonight.
