The San Diego Toreros out-shot the Cal State Fullerton Titans 28-5 and used four second half goals to defeat the Titans 5-0 in a non-conference women’s soccer match at Torero Stadium on Sunday.

The Titans fell to 10-6 overall while San Diego improved to 11-4 overall.
Torero Sophomore Katie Allen headed in the game-winning goal at the 33:51 mark of the first half. Ashley Jacobsen delivered the assist; it would be the first of two for Jacobsen on the afternoon. In the second half, Jacobsen would set-up senior Jamie Gibson in the 72nd minute to push San Diego’s lead to 5-0. Defenders Christina Romero and Rebbeca Smith, along with mid-fielder Val
Strocco would account for the other San Diego goals.

Cal State Fullerton, who came into Sunday’s game having won nine of ten, falls to 10-6 overall on the season. Titan forward Jenny Mescher was credited for three of the five Fullerton shot attempts.

Cal State Fullerton returns to action on Friday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m. on the road to face Cal Poly. The Titans will then take on UCSB in Santa Barbara on Sunday (Nov. 4) at 1 p.m.
