Soccer Coaches
TITANS 2001: Ali Khosroshahin becomes the second coach in the nine-year history of the Cal State Fullerton womens program after serving the past four seasons as an assistant coach for the mens and womens programs under Al Mistri. COACHING EXPERIENCE: Khosroshahin enters his first head coaching position with a wealth of experience under his belt at the high school, collegiate and international levels. His coaching career began in 1992 as the head coach of the boys varsity team at Canyon High School in Anaheim Hills, where he would earn Century League Coach of the Year honors in 1993. He moved on to San Marino High School in 1994, and spent two seasons as the girls varsity head coach until 1995. While at San Marino, Khosroshahin broke into the collegiate coaching ranks, serving as a graduate assistant for the mens soccer team at his alma mater, Cal State Los Angeles. In 1994, Khosroshahin helped coach the Golden Eagles to the NCAA Division II mens soccer playoffs and, in 1995, was hired as a permanent assistant coach, where he served until 1997. Upon his return to the Titan soccer program, he helped coach the Cal State Fullerton mens team to the 1998 and the 2000 NCAA Division I mens soccer playoffs. Internationally, Khosroshahin continues to be active in soccer, serving as an assistant coach for the Mexican womens national team and as a head coach and scout for the US Olympic Development Program in southern California. In 1999, he had the opportunity to assist head coach Leonardo Cuellar with the US womens national team during the US Womens Indoor Soccer Victory Tour following their victory in the 1999 Womens World Cup. Khosroshahin also had the opportunity to coach the US National Team during a match in Tacoma, WA. Khosroshahin has coached numerous club teams as various age levels while also participating in numerous soccer camps. One of his club teams, the Upland Celtics (girls U-13), won the Far West Regional Championship in the summer of 1998. PLAYING EXPERIENCE: Khosroshahin, a two-year letterwinner under Mistri from 1989-91 for the Cal State Fullerton mens team, transferred to Cal State Los Angeles to finish the final two years of his collegiate career. Aside from his college playing experience, Khosroshahin spent two years (1994-96) with the semi-pro Standard Falcons in the USISL and played at the for the USISLs Valley Eagles in 1997. PERSONAL: Khosroshahin graduated from Cal State Los Angeles in 1994 with a bachelors degree in business administration with an emphasis in marketing management. While at Cal State Los Angeles, Khosroshahin served as an instructor in the physical education department teaching beginning, intermediate and advanced soccer, beginning and intermediate racquetball, and indoor soccer. He earned his C coaching license from the US Soccer Federation in 1998 and received his B coaching license in 2001. Fluent in Farsi and conversant in both Turkish and Spanish, Khosroshahin currently resides in Diamond Bar, CA.
