TITANS 2000: Redshirted the season. DEANZA COMMUNITY COLLEGE: Two-time, first-team all-conference midfielder at DeAnza Community College in Cupertino • also a first-team All-Northern California selection as a sophomore when she also earned honorable mention All-America status • on the Dean's List both years • served as team captain during her sophomore year. SANTA TERESA HS: Four-year varsity letterwinner for Santa Teresa High in San Jose for Coach Matt Gullion • two-time first-team all-league selection and a second-team pick as a sophomore • played both midfield and defense • gained the honor roll all four years and won four scholar-athlete awards • served as team captain her senior year. PERSONAL: A "leap year baby," born on Feb. 29, 1980, in San Jose • parents are Tony Garcia of San Jose and Maureen Griswold of Cayucos • has an older sister, Christy • communications major • played club soccer for the Almaden Black Magic • earned athletic department academic honors in the spring of 2001.
