Busy Bardsley Named Co-Player of the Week
Sept. 16, 2002 – Fullerton, Calif.

Cal State Fullerton freshman goalkeeper Karen Bardsley (Chino Hills, Calif./Ayala HS) was named the Big West Conference Co-Player of the Week on Monday after her stellar play at the Nike Portland Invitational this past weekend.

Bardsley shared the honor with Pacific’s Regina McGee.

The rookie netminder made 24 saves in 27 shots on frame this past weekend, as the Titans forced overtime against No. 6 Portland and forged a 1-1 tie with No. 12 Washington. She made 12 saves in each contest, placing her in a tie for fifth on the single-match lists in that category.

For the season, Bardsley has posted a 0.94 goals against average and has made 31 saves in 478 minutes of play.

Cal State Fullerton returns to action on Friday (Sept. 20) as the Titans play host to Loyola College (Md.) at 7 p.m. at Titan Stadium.
