Mularkey
Named to National Teams of the Week Oct. 3, 2002 – Fullerton, Calif. Cal State Fullerton junior midfielder Nicole Mularkey (Long Beach, Calif.) was named to the Soccer Buzz and Soccer America National Teams of the Week on Thursday. They are the first such honors of her career after spending her first two seasons at Long Beach City College before transferring to Cal State Fullerton. Mularkey becomes the second Titan to be named to the Soccer Buzz Elite Team of the Week, joining freshmen goalkeeper Karen Bardsley (Chino Hills, Calif.), who was named to the team the week of Sept. 16. Mularkey needed only two shots to score the first two goals of her Division I career last weekend, notching her first career score in a 4-0 rout of San Diego State on Sept. 27 and tallying to game-winner in the 88th minute to defeat San Diego on Sept. 29. Cal State Fullerton returns to action this weekend as it opens Big West Conference play on Friday (Oct. 4) on the road at Cal State Northridge at 2:30 p.m. The Titans then head to northern California to take on Pacific on Sunday (Oct. 6) at Noon. ####
