Selected for England U19 Camp June 16, 2003 Fullerton, Calif. Cal State Fullerton goalkeeper Karen Bardsley was selected as one of 22 players, including one of two Americans, to participate in the England Women's Under-19 International Training Camp this summer. The camp will be held from June 23-27 at the University of Essex in Wivenhoe Park, Colchester, England. The participants are vying for spots on the England Women's Under-19 team which has qualified to take part in the UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) Women's Under-19 Championship in Leipzig, Germany from July 25-August 3. The eight-team tournament pits England against Germany, Sweden and Italy in Group A, and Norway, France, Spain and the Netherlands in Group B. Last season, Bardsley (Chino Hills, Calif./Ayala HS) helped lead the Titans to a 12-5-1 record and a third-place finish in the Big West Conference. She was the Big West's Freshman of the Year, a second-team All-Big West selection and a second-team Freshman All-American as voted by Soccer Buzz. Bardsley, who finished the year 12-3-1 in net with a 0.96 goals against average in 2002, was also named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's All-West Region third team, and earned spots on Soccer Buzz's All-West Region and All-Freshman teams. ####
