Pryor Lifts Titans to Shutout of Akron

Cal State Fullerton sophomore Erica Pryor scored a goal and had an assist in Cal State Fullerton’s 2-0 shutout of Akron in the first game of the UCI/Nike Women’s Soccer Invitational held at Anteater Stadium Friday.

Pryor started the scoring at 28:23 taking a Lauryn Welch cross from the left side through traffic and into the goal. With five seconds remaining in the game, sophomore Kandace Wilson took a perfect Pryor pass and scored as Akron’s goalkeeper Crystal Tabor came out of the cage.

Tabor tallied five saves for the Zips, while Cal State Fullerton’s Laura Janke totaled one save, while posting the shutout.

The Titans, who improve to 2-0 on the season, had seven shots on goal to Akron’s one. The Zips go to 1-1-1 on the year.
