Titans' Wilson Shares Player of the Week Honors Sept. 8, 2003 -- Irvine, Calif.
Cal State Fullerton sophomore Kandace Wilson was named the Big West Conference's
Co-Player of the Week on Monday after her performance this past week at
UC Irvine's Nike/Holiday Inn Invitational.
It is the first career player of the week honor for Wilson, who scored
a pair of goals and assisted on another in the Titans' two victories this
past weekend.
She scored Fullerton's second goal of the match in the 2-0 victory over
Akron on Friday night and had the game-winner just over nine minutes into
the match in Sunday's victory over New Mexico. She also assisted on Allison
Bowman's goal later in the match against the Lobos.
Cal State Fullerton return to action this weekend as the Titans travel
to Portland, Ore., as one of four teams in the 2003 Portland Nike Invitational
at Merlo Field. Fullerton will meet the defending national champion Pilots
on Saturday (Sept. 13) at 2:15 p.m. before meeting Washington on Sunday
(Sept. 14) at Noon.
