TROY HS Played four years of varsity soccer for Troy HS • scholar-athlete all four years • earned first-team All-Freeway League honors from her sophomore to senior seasons • third-team All-CIF Division III as a junior and first-team honors as a senior • Freeway League Most Valuable Defensive Player as a junior • earned Freeway League Player of the Year honors as a senior and was named the team’s Offensive Player of the Year with 14 goals and 14 assists • helped lead the Warriors to a 21-1-1 overall record and a 10-0 league mark as a senior. PERSONAL Born October 19, 1985, in La Mirada • Parents are Kirk and Taryn Welch • One of four children, but the only girl, joining brothers Ryan (19), Taylor (13) and Brayclon (7) • an undeclared major at Cal State Fullerton • also considered Biola, Masters College, Azusa Pacific, Mississippi and Seattle Pacific before selecting Cal State Fullerton • scholar-athlete all four years in high school with a GPA of 3.2 or above • selected Cal State Fullerton because she “wanted to contribute to winning a national championship under a good coach while obtaining a good education close to home.”
