Titans Picked 11th in the West to Start 2004
Aug. 18, 2004 – Fullerton, Calif.


The Cal State Fullerton women's soccer team was ranked No. 11 in the West Region according to preseason polls release by Soccer Buzz Magazine on Wednesday morning.

The Titans are one of three Big West teams to be listed among the top 15 in the West, joining defending conference champion Cal Poly (No. 6) and UC Santa Barbara (No. 10). Fullerton will face four more teams in the top 15 in the region including, Santa Clara (No. 1), Pepperdine (No. 7), Stanford (No. 8), and San Diego (No. 14).

In the expanded preseason overall rankings (which list the top 30), Santa Clara will begin the season ranked No. 3 in the nation behind NCAA Champion North Carolina and Notre Dame, Cal Poly is No. 22, and Pepperdine is No. 29. Stanford is receiving votes.
