Portland State Leaves Titans Winless at UCI
Sept. 12, 2004 – Irvine, Calif.

Senior Annie Peccia’s goal in the 82nd minute lifted Portland State pastCal State Fullerton 3-2 in the third game of the UC Irvine Nike/Holiday Inn Invitational at Anteater Stadium.
 
Junior Kellie Cox blasted a shot in from 30 yards out put the Titans on the board first in the 22nd minute. Senior Karly Larsen converted a penalty kick in the 39th minute to tie the game at 1-1. Larsen would convert another penalty kick in the 51st minute to put the Vikings ahead 2-1. Kellie Cox would score in the box off a cross from Erin Shelton to tie the game at 2-2.
 
Junior goalkeeper Niki Brooks had four saves for Portland State as the Vikings improve to 1-3-1on the year. Senior goalkeeper Nicole Williams had three saves for Cal State Fullerton (2-3).
 
Portland State was named champion of the UCI Nike/Holiday Inn Invitational after scoring seven points in the tournament, the Anteaters finish second with six points, USF in third with five points and Cal State Fullerton finished with zero points in the tournament. Sophomore Sophia Mundy ofPortland State was named the Offensive Most Valuable Player and UC Irvine senior Julie Scheppele (Fountain Valley HS) was named the Defensive Most Valuable Player.
