Sandoval Chosen For Mexico's Algarve Cup Squad Feb. 14, 2005 – Fullerton, Calif.
Cal State Fullerton junior defender Marlene Sandoval has been selected
to be a part of the Mexican Women's National Team that will compete at
the Algarve Cup in Algarve, Portugal, on March 3-20, 2005.
Sandoval has competed the last two summers for
the national team, helping the side in its quest to qualify for the 2003
Women's World Cup and competing in the 2004 Summer Olympic Games in Athens,
Greece.
Sandoval was a first team All-Big West Conference selection in 2004 and
finished the season with a goal and an assist. She earned second team
honors as a sophomore and honorable mention all-conference honors as a
freshman.
