Wilson Shares Player of the Week Honors Aug. 30, 2004 Fullerton, Calif.
Thanks to a dominating offensive performance on Sunday afternoon against
Fresno State, Cal State Fullerton junior forward Kandace Wilson (Walnut,
Calif.) earned a share of the Big West Conference Player of the Week honors
as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
It is the second career Player of the Week honor for Wilson, who also
earned a share of the award last season on Sept. 8. This time around,
Wilson split the honor with Cal Poly's Sharon Day.
Wilson tallied her first career hat trick in Sunday's 3-1 victory over
the Bulldogs, scoring in the 5th minute to open the contest and then adding
a pair of goals in the first four minutes of the second half to clinch
the win.
With her efforts, Wilson moved into a tie for fifth place on the career
scoring list with 46 points, fourth in career goals (20), and second in
career game-winning goals (7).
The Titans take the Labor Day weekend off before heading back to the pitch
on Wednesday (Sept. 8) as Fullerton hosts San Diego at 7 p.m. at Titan
Stadium.
