DEMIAN BROWN
Assistant Coach
Cal State Fullerton '97
1st Year

The newest addition to the Cal State Fullerton bench, former Titan men’s standout Demian Brown returns to his alma mater for his first season on the sidelines as an assistant coach for the women’s squad in 2004.

“I am very excited to be bringing back one of the best defenders in Titan history to work with us,” Khosroshahin said. “We have not been as solid defensively as I would like and I believe Demian brings a great deal of experience as a player and as a coach that can benefit our team defensively.

“He has also been extremely active in all levels of soccer in Southern California and he has been a teacher for the past five years. He is a great addition to our program as well as our university.”

Brown comes to Fullerton after serving the past five seasons as an assistant coach for the men’s squad at cross-county rival UC Irvine, helping lead the Anteaters to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Tournament in 2000, and coaching the 2001 Big West Co-Defensive Player of the Year (Saul Wolf).

UCI finished with 12 wins and a second-place finish in the MPSF Pacific Division standings in 2000 and finished with 10 wins and a runner-up finish in the Big West in 2001.

His coaching experience also includes working with one of the top girls club programs in the nation, the Slammers FC out of Newport Beach, serving as a head coach in the club since 1999. Brown was also the boys head coach at Canyon High School in Anaheim Hills, Calif., leading that school into the CIF quarterfinals in 2000.

A 1997 graduate of Cal State Fullerton with a degree in communications, Brown was a four-year letterwinner for Head Coach Al Mistri at defender for the Titans (1992-94, 1996), helping lead the Titans to the 1993 College Cup Final Four. He was selected to the 1993 NCAA All-Tournament Team and was a two-time All-MPSF selection, finishing his career with four goals and three assists. He also participated in the 1994 U.S. Olympic Festival in St. Louis.
