CAL STATE FULLERTON
2003 (JUNIOR): Earned All-Big West Conference Honorable Mention honors for the Titans, appearing in 16 matches and making 15 starts • took nine shots on the season • anchored a defense which allowed only 23 goals – the second-fewest goals allowed in school history.

2002 (SOPHOMORE): Valentine was one of three players to start all 18 matches for the Titans despite playing with an ankle injury for the better part of the year • named to the All-Big West honorable mention team • helped anchor a Titan defense which set a school record for the second consecutive season for goals allowed (21) • notched her first collegiate point with an assist in a victory over Pacific • notched her first career goal in a 4-1 win over Idaho • also had an assist against Long Beach State • tied for 10th on the team with four points.

2001 (FRESHMAN): Appeared in 16 matches on the year for the Titans, starting 14 of those • did not score from the defensive back line, but did end up taking seven shots on the year • earned All-Big West second team honors as a member of one of the stingiest defenses in school history.

LA COSTA CANYON HS
Four-year soccer letterwinner at La Costa Canyon for head coach Mike Nicholson • earned Best Defense and first-team All-Avocado League honors in her freshman season and was named team MVP as a sophomore.

PERSONAL
Born March 11, 1983, in San Diego, Calif. • mother is Paula Valentine • has two brothers Tom (24) and John Michael (6) • she is an undecided major at Cal State Fullerton, but hopes to become a sports psychologist, coach or a teacher • chose Fullerton because of the “great location, great athletics and great school” • one of Valentine’s distant relatives is infamous Wild West gunslinger John Henry “Doc” Holliday • lists her favorite sports moment as winning the Youth National Championships in the summer of 2000 • played club soccer for the San Diego Surf • spent the summer of 2001 playing in the Snickers Youth National Championships in Orlando, Fla., helping lead the Surf to a second-place finish • enjoys coaching girls soccer in her spare time.
