Bruins Sweep Cross Country Meet at Fullerton
OCT. 19, 2001 – Brea, Calif.

UCLA swept both the men's and women's races at the Cal State Fullerton Cross Country Invitational Friday afternoon. The Bruin women took all five of the top scoring places for 15 points to easily outdistance Pepperdine with 61. In the men's competition, UCLA tallied 21 points to edge Men of Troy with 40.

The meet was run at Carbon Canyon Regional Park in Brea when construction work made the Cal State Fullerton campus unusable.

The host Titans ran only their "B" teams.

Lena Nilsson won the women's race in 18:04.7 over the 5K course whie Ben Aragon won for the Bruins men in 25:01.3 over 8 K.

The top Titan runners were Nick Arciniaga at 26:44.2 for 17th place and Karen Lotich at 20:14.9 for 23rd place.
