Stanford captured both the men's and women's team titles at the 2001 Jammin' Invitational cross country meet Saturday at Carbon Canyon Regional Park in Brea, California.

The Cardinal women took the first four individual places and eighth to score only 18 points and easily beat runnerup UCLA, which had 51. Mariel Ettinger set the pace in 17:33.1 over the 5K course, just ahead of teammates Caroline Annis, Laura Turner and Erin Sullivan. Victoria Chang was eighth.

The Cardinal men were led by individual champion Sean Knapp, who set the pace in 24:32.6 over the 8K course. Stanford had four of the top six runners and totaled 25 points with Cal Baptist running second with 64 points.

Host Cal State Fullerton placed fifth in the women's competition led by Danielle Hernandez, who was the 23rd place scorer. The Titan men also were fifth and they were paced by Bryce Lighthall who finished 15th in 25:41.2.
