Cal State Fullerton's Jordan Horn finished fourth in the men's race and
the women's team placed four runners in the top 30 as the Titan cross
country teams finished second and third at the UC Riverisde Invitational
on Saturday morning.
Horn ran 24:45.10 to pace the men's squad, which finished as the top collegiate
team and second overall with 120 points. Cal Coast Track Club won the
men's event with 90 points and Southern Utah finished third with 123 points.
Nick Arciniaga was also in the top 10 with a seventh place finish and
a time of 24:52. Marcos Campos also finished in the top 20 for the men,
running 25:09.10 to finish 16th in his first race of the season.
On the women's side the Titans finished third as a team with 116 points,
just behind Southern Utah in second which finished with 110. Long Beach
State won the team event with a total of 87 points.
Juliana Masciana was Fullerton's top finisher at 18:27.80 for 17th place
and was closely followed by teammate Alejandra Contreras, who was 18th
with a time of 18:28.30.
Luz Valdez (23rd - 18:39.6) and Dahamar Perez (26th - 18:42.50) also finished
in the top 30 for the Titans.
The cross country squads return to action on Oct. 16 at the Cal Poly Invitational
at 9 a.m. on San Luis Obispo.
